ALL IN!

The “All-In” initiative aims to inspire local residents and visitors to take proactive steps to reduce pollution by recycling fishing line, cigarette butts, and other trash that threaten the health of our precious aquatic ecosystems.

The Choctawhatchee Basin, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich biodiversity, is under constant threat from pollution caused by discarded fishing gear, cigarette butts, and litter. The CBA recognizes the urgent need for action and has launched the "All-In" Pollution Prevention Campaign to mobilize the community and foster a sense of responsibility for the protection of our waterways.

Key objectives of the "All-In" Pollution Prevention Campaign include:

Recycling Fishing Line: Abandoned fishing line poses a severe threat to aquatic life and can take hundreds of years to decompose. To combat this issue, the CBA encourages all anglers to utilize designated fishing line recycling bins strategically placed near popular fishing spots. These bins will ensure that fishing line is properly recycled and does not harm marine life.

Recycling Cigarette Butts: Cigarette butts, made of non-biodegradable materials, are a major source of water pollution. The CBA is installing cigarette butt receptacles at local beaches, parks, and public spaces to encourage responsible disposal. Collected butts will be recycled into various products, reducing their environmental impact.

Trash-Free Waterways: The "All-In" Campaign calls on everyone to be mindful of their trash. Whether picnicking, boating, or simply enjoying a day by the water, we urge all community members and visitors to pick up and properly dispose of their litter. Together, we can ensure our waterways remain clean and vibrant.

The "All-In" Pollution Prevention Campaign is not just a call to action; it's an invitation to the community to participate in the preservation of the Choctawhatchee Basin's natural treasures. By working together, we can make a significant impact and safeguard these vital resources for future generations.

Join us in taking a stand for clean waterways and a healthier environment. Be "All-In" for the Choctawhatchee Basin!
