Dennis Peters

Dennis Peters is Gulf South Research Corporation’s (GSRC) Vice President, responsible for company performance, staff development, environmental business development, and marketing. Dennis also serves in a program and project management role, supporting multiple DOD customers, with a focus on the Navy, Air Force, and US Army Corps of Engineers. Dennis is a seasoned marine and oceanographic scientist, focusing on environmental planning initiatives and natural resource studies of the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and Atlantic.

With over 41 years of marine, estuarine, and aquaculture R&D experience combined, Dennis has had previous employment with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Florida Wildlife Research Institute (Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission [FWC]), Hawaii Seafood Growers, Noraqua, Gulfstream Aquaculture, and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute.

Mr. Peters additionally works for his private consulting firm, Gulfstream Aquaculture, LLC, to provide expertise in open ocean mariculture, permitting and federal agency consultations, aquaculture feasibility studies, and offshore oceanographic siting analyses for future farm sites. Dennis is currently engaged in the permitting of two open ocean fish farm sites in Florida; one off Sarasota and another in South Florida.

Dennis served as a past Board Member of the Marine Resource Education Program’s (MREP) Aquaculture Steering Committee, Gulf of Maine Research Institute, and past board of directors of the Northwest Florida State College Foundation (NWFSCF), and additionally, serves on the board of trustees of the Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc.
